discriminant for ax^2+bx+c=0 is
b^2-4ac
when discriminat is
1. less than 0, there aer no real roots
2. equal to zero, there is 1 real root
3. more than 0, there is 2 real roots
6x^2=-8x-7
6x^2+8x+7=0
8^2-4(6)(7)=
64-168<0
0 real roots
