=m^2 - 5m +2m - 10
= m^2 - 3m - 10

  You have to simplify (m-5)(m+2) to get the answer, and you're just multiplying binomials now. You can do this by doing FOIL, the distributive property, or a geometric method. To do this with the distributive property or FOIL (as they are actually the same methods), you multiply every term in one parentheses by every term in the other parentheses. For example, you could write m(m-5)+2(m-5), and simplify from that step further to get your answer.
