the find the height of a pole, a surveyor moves 140 feet away from the the base of the pole and then, with a transfer 4 feet tall, measures the angle of elevation to the top of the pole 44 degrees. the the nearest foot, what is the height of the pole?

That should be "... with a TRANSIT 4 feet tall..."
tangent (44) = pole / 140
.96569 = pole / 140
pole = 135.1966 PLUS the transit height =
pole = 139.1966
