(x,y)
(4,-5)
subsitute and see if true
sub 4 for x and -5 for y
5(4)+2(-5)=8
20-10=8
10=8
false
it is not a possible solution

No because x=4 and y=-5 and when you plug it in you get 5(4)+2(-5)=8 20+-10=8 and 10= does not work so it is not a possible solution.
