Resource use is pretty much what we are doing now, which is just using the non-renewable sources from the Earth such as coal. Sustainable development on the other hand is the use of renewable resources like solar and wind power for development. Renewable is something that can be used over and over again like solar power while non-renewable can only be used once and there is a finite amount of it like coal. Finally, sustainable resource use is the ability to use these finite resources in such a manner that they will last as long as possible.

Hope this helps :)
