1gm water is 10^-3kg. g is about 10, actually 9.81.h = 2000 metres.GPE = mgh = 10(^-3)kgx10x2x(10^3) =n about 20 Joules ???using kinematic equation ... v^2=u^2+2as where drop starts at rest, u= 0.v=sqroot(2x10x2000) m/sv=sqrt (40 000)I may have got the zeros confused here, 'cos it looks as though it should come out as an "easy" number. This calculation assumes NO air resistance so that TERMINAL VELOCITY is not relevant.
