6 times 5 which is 30
30 plus 3.5 = 33.5
40 minus 33.5 = 6.5
He must work an additional 6 hours and 30 minutes.

So 5 days m-f
6x5=30 hours
Add the 3.5 from Saturday
33.5. To figure out how much on Sunday you subtract the total from the goal (40)
40-33.5=6.5 hours on sunday
