Monarchy is a political regime in which head of state is a king or monarch that who has not been democratically elected, but the transfer of authority occurs in hereditary form, that is, from father to son without intervening at will popular.

En la democracia el poder reside en el pueblo, en la monarquía en el Rey.
No se pueden citar las actuales monarquías parlamentarias como por ejemplo las de Inglaterra y España, donde la Reina o el Rey no tienen poder de decisión, sino que son de carácter simbólico y representativo.
