A pair of equations is shown below:

y = 7x − 8
y = 5x − 2
Part A: Explain how you will solve the pair of equations by substitution or elimination. Show all the steps and write the solution.

what u would do is u would plug in y=7x-8 to the equation y=5x-2 to get 7x-8=5x-2. then what u would do is combine like terms so 5x-7x=-2-8. Next you would simplify to get -2x=-10. Then u would divide -2 by -10 to get x=5. Now in order to find Y you would plug in x=5 to 5x-2. to get 5*5-2 next you would simplify to get y=23. thus your answer is x=5 and y=23
