The right answer is B) The Last of the Mohicans.

Bret Harte wrote a novel titled Muck-A-Muck: A Modern Indian Novel After Cooper (1867) as a parody of Cooper's Leatherstocking Tales pentalogy. The last of the Mohicans is the second book of this pentalogy. Harte knew how to entertain his audience. His stories of the American West were in demand in the United States and Europe in his period.
