2.5x=2048
x=819.2
1024+819.2=1843.2
The prize money was worth $1,843.20

First, we'll set up a proportion to see how much money Jill got:
2/2.5 = x/1024; 2.5x = 2048; x = $819.20.
To find how much the prize is worth, we'll just add Jack and Jill's shares: $1024 + $819.20 = $1,843.20.
