William Shakespeare and his playing company, called the Lord´s Chamberlain´s Men, built the Globe Theater in 1599. It is most famous for having been the location where many of Shakespeare´s plays took place. Since it was built, it has been destroyed several times, however, nowadays, there is a reconstruction of it, only a few feet away from the original location, and it is called Shakespeare´s Globe.
