a polynomial function with roots r1,r2,r3,r4 is factoed as
(x-r1)(x-r2)(x-r3)(x-r4)

given
r1=1
r2=2
r3=-3
r4=-1

f(x)=(x-1)(x-2)(x-(-3))(x-(-1))
f(x)=(x-1)(x-2)(x+3)(x+1)
do math yourself
f(x)=x⁴+x³-7x²-x+6
