The first row in a theater has 8 seats, the second row has 12 seats, and the third row has 16 seats. If this pattern continues, how many seats will the sixth row have?

So the pattern is "add four every row":


8 + 4 = 12 ~ The second row

12 + 4 = 16 ~ The third row

16 + 4 = ... ~ The fourth row

So with the pattern, we just add four a couple more times.


16 + 4 = 20 ~ The fourth row

20 + 4 = 24 ~ The fifth row

24 + 4 = 28 ~ The sixth row
