How did the interstate highway system spur the growth of the suburbs?

The Interstate Highway Act had gotten authorization to fund 41,000 miles of highways in the United States. The interstate highways spurred the growth of the suburbs all around the states because it was now easier for people to get around and to get better jobs closer to home or keep their old jobs with less travel time.
