If the weight of displaced water is greater than the weight of an object, then the object will:

because the water weighs more so it will hold it.

lighter things float above heavier things
the displaced water has more 'push' against the object
so it will float

like a balloon
helium has less weight than air and that's why it floats on air (air is considerd a liquid)
