D: Fighting for their freedom. They wanted to be free so they fought against slavery. Slaves were the people who got a lot of the work done. So without them, nothing got done. Which means nothing was sold. Which also means money wasn't coming in. Slaves boycotted things to ultimately get freedom.

Easier said than done, but yeah. :)
