The biggest challenges faced by the Jewish settlers who arrived in Israel
beginning in the 1880s was introducing modern agricultural methods to an
ancient culture.

Mosquito-borne disease in the wetlands represented another challenge.

Israel is a small country located in the Middle East. The number of Jews migrating to this land in the Middle East growth significantly between the 13th and 19th centuries, mainly as a result of a general decrease in the status of Jews in Europe. The Jewish settlers had two types of agriculture methods: the cooperative agricultural community and the collective community method.
