Subtract 8x from both sides to get
x^(2) -8x+20=0
Then using the quadratic formula:
x= \frac{-b+/- \sqrt{ b^(2)-4ac } }{2a}
Substitute a = 1, b = -8, and c = 20

x= (8+/- √(64-4(1)(20)) )/(2(1)) -(-8) = 8 and (-8)^2 = 64

x=4+/-2i
