9x= -8-2

9x/ 9 = -10/9
X= -0.9 or x=-1.11

I don't think so, this is how I would do it:
3x - 8 = 6x - 2
- 3x
-8 = 3x - 2
+ 2
-6 = 3x
÷ 3
-2 = x
