How do you solve this system by elimination?

-5x+7y=11
-5x+3y=19

I don't know how to solve it.

(-5x+7y=11) - (-5x+3y=19) =
4y = -8. (divide both sides by 4)

y = -2

Substitute

-5x + 7(-2) =11
-5x - 14 =11
-5x = 25

x = -5



y = -2 and x = -5
