Answer: Isotonic solution is defined as two solution having the same osmotic pressure across the semipermeable membrane. This means the molecules can move freely from inside of the cell to other side. There is a equal concentration of solutes in both the cells. Isotonic solution states a condition in which the solvent inside the cell is equal to the solvent outside the cell. It helps water to move freely across the membrane with changing the concentration of the solutes.
