For number one I would model it like this:
16 = 2s

For number two just do it like this:
.7A - 4A + 5 = -8
-3.3A + 5 = -8
-3.3A = -13
A = 3.9 (approximately)

For number three just remember that a square has for sides so you would just multiply one side length times 4 and set it equal to the whole like this:
4(3x+4) = 76
12x + 16 = 76
12x = 60
x = 5

For number four we'll use "t" to represent the total:
4 (25) + (16*3) = t
100 + 48 = t
148 = t

For number five just distribute and so on:
1/4B - 4 = 7
1/4B = 11
B = 44

I hope that helps as well! :D

0.7a-4a=-33

a=10

10 is the answer because the first step is that you combine like terms so 0.7a-4a=-3.3a so then you divide -3.3 to each side and you negatives cancel out and the answer is 10
