Some opportunity costs of a greater government role in the economy are government agencies ruining competition and creating a need for higher prices.

I believe the answer is: government agencies ruining competition and creating a need for higher prices.

Government agencies could do this by providing some sort of incentives to a few corporations, which would give the economic advantage over other competition in the market. They could also create price floor regulations which caused average price of products in the market to increase.
