In order for a solute to dissolve it needs to fit in between the molecules of the solvent. When you stir the mixture it makes all the molecules move around making it more likely for the solute to find one of the gaps in the solvent needed to dissolve. In the case of lemonade, sugar is the solute and water is the solvent.
