Write an equation parallel to y= 3/4x+6 that goes through the point (-12,5). I am learning about solving systems by substitution or elimination

parallel lines have the same slope just a different y intercept
the slope is .75 so you multiply that by the x value: .75×-12=-9
now you figure out how to get 5 from -9
to do that all you have to do is add 14
so the answer is y=3/4x+14
