Answer : Carbohydrates such as sugar and starch ,for example are readily broken down into glucose i.e the body's principle source of energy .The glucose can be used by the body as an immediate source of energy. Glucose can be immediately used as fuel, or even can be sent to liver and muscles and stored as glycogen .

The metabolic disposal of dietary carbohydrates is direct oxidation in various tissues. The direct oxidation of glucose inhibits the oxidation of fat when glucose oxidation is released.
