The formula for area is A=LW L being length and W being width
A= 299.49
L=13.4
W=?
299.49=13.4(L)
divide both sides by 13.4 and you get the answer
L=22.35 ft

To solve this problem, write an equation
229.49 represents total size of the patio and 13.4 represents the length.
x represents the width.
229.49 = 13.4 * x
Divide 13.4
x = 17.126
The patio is 17.126 feet wide.
