Why did Maria Theresa and Frederick the Great fight two wars against each other?

Her right to the throne was challenged by Frederick the Great in the War of the Austrian Succession. The war ended in 1748 with most maria Theresa's right to most of the Austrian territory confirmed, except for Silesia. She went to war with Frederick again in 1756, the Seven Years War, in an attempt to win back Silesia, but she was unsuccessful.
