Well when a specie is very scarce or is gone it is called close to extinct (scarce) or extinct. The opposite of that is.....invasive.

Rabbits were introduced in Australia in 1859 the rabbit had no natural predators and begin to crowd the native animals out of their habitats. When this happens the rabbits became invasive species.
