What skills will a manager need to communicate with new employees?

Consideration patience integrity
Social media /communication
Organization
Project oriented
How I think of managers are just like leaders. With that I am saying a boss CAN be a leader but a leader doesNOT HAVE to be a boss. Don't be afraid to drop the title every once in a while and get your hands dirty with the rest. Not only will it continue to make you well rounded up and keep your skills fresh but it will also make your employees feel more comfortable.

the incipient employee is probably nervous your job is to make them feel at ease and welcome them
