Thomas 'Stonewall" Jackson got his nickname from the battle of the Civil war called First Battle of Manassas. General Bernard Bee said "Look, men! There is Jackson standing like a stone wall!". General Bernard Bee said this to his men to encourage them.

During the battle of Bull Run, all of the other Confederates had been driven back except general Jackson´s. His strong stand helped the Confederates triumph although they were nearly crushed.
