ab+ac=a(b+c)
a is the GCF
factor each
96x^2=2*2*2*2*2*3*x*x
88x=2*2*2*11*x
GCF=2*2*2*x=8x
96x^2+88x=
8x(12x)+8x(11)=
8x(12x+11)
