In the book "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" how did Marguerite feel when she was surrounded by young people of all races in Chapter 34? Why did she feel that?

She felt like the caged Bird but it sang so she was feeling helpless but she always kept a positive attitude.

She felt nervous, because she was not used to being around all races.
