What is cytoplasm function?

Cytoplasm, the gel-like fluid in which all organelles and cell parts are present, is what gives a cell its shape. It is known to help in metabolic activity, and contains various molecules to decompose waste.
Should cytoplasm not be present, various problems would arise.

It is best described as a jelly like water and salt combination and somewhat holds the organelles in place.
