Alrighty, so, imagine you didn't or don't know much about desertification. You could imagine that it means the land becomes a desert. Knowing this I think it's easy to assume that desertification makes it harder for people in Southeast Asia to grow food or even build houses once their natural resources are destroyed from desertification.
