Pangolins are said to be the world's most trafficked mammal. All eight species are targeted for their meat and for use in traditional Chinese medicine. Little is known about this elusive creature, so it's difficult to estimate wild population sizes. But given the demand for pangolin meat and scales, the population is believed to be in decline.
