Babylonian Exile, also called Babylonian Captivity, the forced detention of Jews in Babylonia following the latter's conquest of the kingdom of Judah in 598/7 and 587/6 bce. The exile formally ended in 538 bce, when the Persian conqueror of Babylonia, Cyrus the Great, gave the Jews permission to return to Palestine.

Answer:

The babylonian exile was also known as the Babylonian captivity.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Babylonian exile or the Babylonian captivity was a stage of time in which Jews living in Babylonia were detained in the city because the Persians conquered Judah. Therefore, it is registered as a very obscure time in the history of Jews. It is called the exile because the kind of Judah at the time was exiled with all his family, as well as his court. Also because many Jews were permitted to leave the place for Palestine. Nevertheless, many of them remained in their settlements. Finally, this occupation was the attributed cause of Jerusalem and Nebuchadrezzar destruction.
