A bottle contains red beads and white beads.

The number of red beads is 3 times the number of white beads.
If there are 1875 white beads, what is the total number of beads in the bottle?

Please give me an explanation with the answer, not just the answer, thanks.

Start by multiplying the amount of white beads by 3 (there are 3 times more red than white!)

1,875 * 3 = 5,625 red beads.

Well, to find the TOTAL number of beads (red AND white), add the red beads (5,625) and the white beads (1,875).

5,625 + 1,875 = 7,500

So the answer is 7,500 beads (:
Hope this helped!
