they were poor white men who needed money so they worked in tobacco fields and were promised land but never got. this will be the reason for bacon rebellion. bacon was promised land but never gets.

An indentured servant is someone who was under contract and would exchange work (usually manual labor) for passage to the New World. This took place primarily in Maryland and Virginia during the seventeenth century.
