Good evening!

The Monticello Convention of 1852 resulted in a petition for the creation of Columbia territory. Thus, in March of 1853 the Congress approved the law of creation of the territory, renaming it to "Washington".

C. It sought the separation of the WA Territory from the Oregon territory.
