8(11/2) It would make it easier to multiply if you made it

(8)/(1) * (11)/(2)
Then multiply across

(8*11)/(1*2) = (88)/(2)

Finally, simplify.

(88/2)/(2/2) =88/2=44
Final answer is 44

8 x 1/2 = 4
8+4 =12
therefore, 8 x 1 1/2 = 12
