Mass % A = (mass of A in the whole) / (mass of the whole) * 100

mass of CaCl = 5.00 g

Mass of whole = 14.50 g

Answer:

The total molar mass of CaCl2 is (1 × 40.078 grams/mole) + (2 × 35.45 grams/mole) = 110.978 grams/mole. Notice that the molar mass of calcium in the compound is 40.078 grams/mole.

= 0.3611

0.3611 × 100% = 36.11%

Rounded to the nearest percent, the final answer is 36%.
