Under early mercantilism, European nations sought to import raw materials from the Americas and ship manufactured goods to their colonies. Had that pattern changed in today's world ?

In todays world the third world countries or the colonies at the time are now the makers of the manufactured goods, because in 3rd world countries the cost of production is much cheaper and the labor cost is also cheaper. Then they will sell it in first world countries at very high price
