46.2.  15.4 is one third of 46.2, therefore when you multiply it ny three, you get 46.2.  All the problem is, is multiplying the input by 3.

Answer:

The number which the function will return if the input is 15.4 is:

46.2

Explanation:

We are given a conversion from yards to feet as:

a yard is equal in length to three feet .

i.e. 1 yard= 3 feet

Also, the function F(y) takes a measurement in yards (as input) and returns a measurement in feet (as output)

Now, if the input is: 15.4

i.e. we have the input as 15.4 yards

Now we have to find how much is it in feet.

Since ,

1 yard= 3 feet

Hence,

15.4 yard= 15.4×3 feet

i.e.

15.4 yard= 46.2 feet.
