By definition, the Lapita culture or even a tradition is a prehistoric Pacific Ocean people. They existed around 1600 BCE to 500 BCE. As a fact, they are to be believed as ancestors of Micronesia, Polynesia and other coastal areas of Melanesia. This group of people or culture explored and settled across western Pacific in only 5-10 generations.
