I would say false. Mostly because the Volcano's height comes from the amount of pressure built up underneath, and it's that pressure which is the main factor in the explosiveness of a volcano.

I believe this is false. I think that the greater the gas build up in the volcano will lead to a bigger eruption regardless of size.
