Thomas Austin Jones is the Chief Agent of the Confederate Secret Service in Maryland. Thomas Jones hid John Wilkes Booth and Davy Harold after Lincoln was shot. He brought them food, whiskey, and newspapers. He later sold Booth a flat bottom boat to make his escape. He was later arrested for his part but subsequently released. In 1893, he wrote a 126-page book telling his part in the Lincoln assassination.
