Dante's Inferno was a highly religious text and Ulysses committed a pretty major sin throughout the entirety of the Odyssey. You don't give me much information regarding whether you're currently reading The Odyssey or Dante's Inferno, but since the question mentions both, I'm going to work under the assumption that you read both (Or parts of both) in class. Take a look at the Ten Commandments and see which one applies to Ulysses. Hope that helps!
