1.) A stroke is caused by a blockage in the brain. Have the person stay calm and follow the FAST procedure. Look at the person to see if they have weakness and sit the person down. Call 911 or go to the nearest hospital.
2.) Massive trauma can lead to a life threatening condition known as shock. Have the person stay calm. Call 911 immediately and do not move them.
3.) A tonic-clonic seizure that goes status is a life threatening condition where a person with epilepsy has a prolonged seizure. Roll the person on their side and move away all dangerous objects. Do not restrain them. Call 911 if the seizure goes over 5 minutes or the person has 2 seizures in a row without gaining consciousness.
4.) A person can choke at any moment. It is important to give the Heimlich maneuver to a person who is choking on a object. Give 5 abdominal thrust and be trained.
